Hudson Redesigns their North American Intranet With Help from Sylver Consulting

    Sylver Consulting, a research and customer-driven innovation firm based in Chicago, IL, helps Hudson, an international staffing, recruitment and talent management company, to redesign their intranet to address the unmet information needs of their employees.

    Three years ago, Hudson started an initiative to redesign their intranet, believing that it should and could be a productivity tool for the organization. Sylver Consulting worked with Hudson to really understand the "sales culture" of the company, interviewing and observing the workflows of varied roles, functions and departments across the North American offices of the organization.

    Brianna Sylver, President of Sylver Consulting explains, "Hudson knew that the answer regarding how their intranet should be redesigned existed within their employees. Sylver Consulting just helped them to cull that knowledge. We designed an Exploratory Ethnographic Research project intent on really understanding how people work. We didn't go in asking for feedback on their existing intranet or ask them to hypothesize what they might like to see in the redesign. We watched them work, saw their real work challenges and then suggested ways that the intranet could help to fill those information gaps."
