Adriano Galvao and Claudio Chauke will speak at The World Future Society’s
2010 Conference

  • CHICAGO, IL; Jun 10, 2010

Adriano Galvao, VP at Sylver Consulting and adviser at the Center for Strategic Studies and Management (CGEE), Brazil, and Claudio Chauke, senior adviser at CGEE, will speak at The World Future Society’s 2010 Conference, in Boston, MA, on July 9.

Adriano and Claudio will present a scenario-based approach developed to identify technological opportunities in the future and guide decision making. The approach was tested with a group of 25 experts from the automotive sector who generated a set of scenarios 15 and 25 years out. Through a series of workshops and online surveys, the scenarios were developed and became guidelines to define technological opportunities and craft a strategic roadmap for auto part companies in Brazil. The talk will emphasize the challenges and results obtained while developing and applying the scenario-based approach.

Adriano adds, “in our presentation, we plan to show the work we did in the automotive sector of Brazil as it relates to the methodology of creating scenarios that are mindful of budgetary and time constraints. The annual WFS conference is an amazing event that usually attracts upwards of 1,000 attendees. During the 3-day conference, there are 5-10 presentations running simultaneously on a wide range of topics, from business and careers, to technology, values and spirituality.”
